School Story

I met my husband, Steve, in college (Ashland College) -- we were married in 1968. We bought a house in Bay Village. I worked at a law firm for 8 years and then at an advertising agency for 10 years. I then ran my own graphics business until 1990. My parents lived in Las Vegas and when my mom passed away in 1990, we sold our house and moved to Vegas so my dad wouldn't be by himself. We bought a house out here in 2000. I worked at several law firms, then as Contracts Administrator at the Venetian Hotel and finally at the Review-Journal (our local newspaper) and retired in 2011. My husband proudly served in Vietnam and was a 100% service-connected disabled veteran. Dealing with his health issues from Agent Orange and his combat PTSD has been a full-time job in itself! We were married almost 49 years when Steve passed away over Memorial Day weekend 2017 from Pancreatic Cancer from being in Vietnam. I met Ed Deno in March 2019. We met through the dating site "Our Time" -- his wife passed away 6 months after Steve. He was an MP in the Army for 8 years and is also a Vietnam Veteran. I don't know what I'd do without him at this point in my life (especially during the Covid thing)! We finally got married December 5, 2023, at the Elvis Chapel here in Vegas. I miss my friends and family in Ohio, but I love waking up every morning to sunny days!

Just thought I'd share the fact that Vegas broke a record yesterday for a record high temperature of all time when we reached 120 degrees! OMG -- YES -- 120!!!
It's been AT LEAST 112 for more than a week and there's no relief in sight for at least another week to 10 days! We JUST got the A/C in our car fixed last Tuesday -- Whew!
I wouldn't even be stepping out our front door if I didn't absolutely have to, but, unfortunately, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and Wednesday. I really, really hope the A/C stays fixed!
